Nothing like finding out at the last moment that I (now) have a free night on my upcoming trip to Sydney.

I fly down tomorrow (Tuesday 15th 6am - my inaugural Virgin flight) and back Thursday AM. I am booked on Wednesday night but tomorrow night I am available. ATM, my last appointment finishes ~2pm (but waiting on a couple of clients to confirm whether they want to see me tomorrow afternoon or Wed AM).

I am staying at Potts Point, so not far for me to come back into the City/North Sydney for drinks/dinner. As a non local, happy to be guided as to where might be good place (central to transport for all).

Where are all these SYD members who regularly get together for drinks?

Apology from me, Shrek is in Malaysia and I'm doing the single parent juggling everything this week. Remember to change your watch

I should be able to catch up tomorrow night. We can decide venue depending on who else is available. I'm happy to catch train to Kings Cross station assuming you are at Potts Point HI or alternatively we can catch up north of the harbour bridge (you catch train here), and I can drive you home after. Can't be too late a night as I have to be at the QF hangar at 0645 Wed to inspect the Dreamliner! http://www.australianfrequentflyer....ner-downunder-wednesday-34389.html#post515102

Princess Fiona, didn't think you'd be able to make it ;(

kpc, not at the HI, but somewhere nearby (couldn't get into any HI, CP or Hilton, SPG or my other programs). I'm happy to travel and agree on the early night - my first appt is 8.15am at Martin Place.

Thank to the peanut gallery about the QLD/NSW rivalry (and the Mexican who threw his hat in):p.

Unless we get a significant no. who want to catch up near CBD, I like to suggest one of my locals Oaks Hotel neutral bay dining restaurant birthday function The weather will be nice and balmy tomorrow to sit under the Oak tree:cool:. Happy to pick up from my local train station (Artarmon - 12mins on North Shore Line northbound from Wynyard), and I can drive you home / Cbd/ train station after which would limit me to a drink or two.

Well unless we get a surprise response, it's you and me at The Oaks.

I'm very comfortable with North Shore line as my mums sister lives in Lindfield and my godparents used to live in Neutral Bay.

Happy to catch a train back if you deposit be at the station

Im happy to meet at Rydges Square Bar - lay my 50% off card on the table, the restaurant there isnt too shabby either (especially half price)

Ahh bummer. I'm arriving in syd on Wednesday! Off to melb Thursday..

I could drag myself into the CBD somewhere.

Yep, wind it ahead 1 hour and 25 years... ;)

Does that mean Queensland will no longer be able to play rugby league in 25 years, like NSW can't now?

Evolution necessarily involves change; using fire and tools, walking upright, losing body hair, appreciating art and music and, yes, becoming unable to play rugby league... ;)

I might be able to swing by for a drink or two, depending on location.

The Oaks is incredibly convenient for me, but only because it's about 500m from where I need to go after that :)

I have PM Lindsay re location (and time) and am waiting his response.

I take it the idea of paying half price for drinks is not appealing...

I could do Rydges.

Just about had enough for the day as well. Might leave at 5.

Can someone confirm whether it's the Oaks or the Rydges? I'm less than a block from the Rydges, and I want to leave work now! :)

Far from it munitalP, I gave been concentrating on flying and client meetings all day. Now checked into my hotel, so Rydges sounds good for most/everybody. Half price drinks, never shirked from them in my life.

I'd be there from ~ 5.30pm, so long as I can find the Rydges (off to Google address)
