Well this morning I caught QF795 CBR-MEL. We took off on time and landed on time, Then we sat on the tarmac for 40 minutes waiting for a gate to open up.

The Captain did keep us informed and you could sense the frustration in his voice.

There were pax who were sweating on international flights and they were rightfully disembarked first.

How could it get this bad on a Saturday morning?

What a cough-up. 40 minutes is way, way too long.

Please complain to Qantas (if you haven't already) - It is likely a combination of Qantas and Melbourne airport to blame though.
 
Reminds me of the oh wait the sole ground engineer is on break at PER✈
