I think someone who's not me should organise them at a place that's not Crown.

How it normally works is the first person to mention MEL Drinks - organises them. It is very obvious in this case that you are the first, therefore it will now be your duty to do it.

Its a thankless task - being one who has organised many many drinks nights across Australia, lets see, TSV, PER (2 times), DRW, SYD, HBR and of course MEL. The difficult task is finding a venue that suits everyone - you being a point in case, you obviously don't like Lagerfield, whereas, most who do go there don't mind using it as a springboard for other venues. We over the years have actually used a number of other places across the city in the past, none of which have been as easy to get to for public transport or parking as Lagerfield, not to mention myriad of good restaurants within spitting distance.

Good luck with the venture - count me in +1

Yep, those TSV drinks were hard to organize, don't suppose drinks in DRW are on later this week ;), lol.

the Boss (who pays my wage) not the one who spends my wage, put the stoppers on all travel this week (phew!) to have a catch up on reports & invoicing... so no. I'm sure an impromptu event will pop it's head up again ;)

you should come to Perth!

My boss is a tad geographically challenged (he once asked me to organise some joint visits for us and our clients in OOL, BNE, MCY, MKY, ROK, GLT, TSV and CNS in two days - all driving with 14 hours of meetings) but I dont think I can convince him that my clients all decamped DRW for PER ;). Enjoy PER though!
Will be in MEL last weekend of the month so you are all welcome to help me finish my free Mini Bar at the IC, first in first served on the Taittinger  .

Do we have a date yet (apart from venue)?
Would love to come if not on call and in MEL.

mmm, i've noticed the absence of a MEL drinks thread for a while..
As such I'd be keen.
Keeping an open eye on the thread
