MEL - HNL via SYD (using the QF curbside First Class Check-In Lounge)

I frequently travel from Melbourne (MEL) to Honolulu (HNL) via Sydney (SYD) with Qantas (QF). Typically, I only carry on my luggage. However, last month, I had checked baggage. Unfortunately, the Qantas International Check-In counters at Qantas' domestic Terminal 1 in Melbourne were unmanned. Consequently, I proceeded to the domestic service counter, which was operational. However, there was a lengthy queue of waiting passengers, and it took nearly 25 minutes before I was attended to.

My query is, as a Qantas Platinum Frequent Flyer, am I entitled to utilize the Qantas curbside First Class check-in lounge at Melbourne's Terminal 2 International Terminal if I am flying Qantas to Sydney to connect with a Qantas flight to Honolulu?

I believe the First check in can only check people in for international QF flights - you'll have to go to the domestic terminal to check in as your first flight is domestic.

I thought that would be the case. Thank you for your reply. Much appreciated.

If you don't want to wait in the queue, you can check your self in online and then head straight to the bag tag kiosks and do it yourself?
