I am going to be transitting the domestic QC in MEL for several hours.

Last time I was there, I checked out the showers and look quite good.

Where do you get the towels for the showers in the domestic QC?

Are there any toiletries available? eg toothbrush, shampoo etc?

thanks

Ask at the service desk and they will arrange all you need for you, including towels and toiletries.

QC usually hold your boarding pass for collateral in the domestic pubs

I would assume they do that also because if they have a call for a late passanger then easily see they are in the shower (not just because they think you will run off with the towel)

Somebody present a OLCI boarding pass and see what happens :)

I have not had this happen to me, although it makes sense to do so.

Sitting in PER QP on Thursday a flight to SYD was delayed due to a passenger way-layed in the QP. Too long in the shower perhaps..;)

Nah they're just scared your boarding pass might get wet and stuff up the boarding pass reader.

They're keeping it safe :)

The last time I was having a shower at a QP (Domestic), I wasn't asked for my BP. Maybe I looked like a trustworthy person, or they correctly guessed that I was flying Jetstar later that night and hadn't checked in yet...

Is this the same for all Dom QPs? What about Intl?

It's the only reason I've never used one, because I wasn't too sure! I'm also assuming there would be somewhere to keep your laptop out of sight while doing so..

Pretty much the case for all Domestic lounges that I have been to. The international lounges generally have a stack of towels and amenities inside the shower rooms. But I usually just ask at the reception desk when I arrive and they let me know the details.

At some busy lounges like SIN they have a full-time shower room attendant who cleans the rooms after each use. Just walk into the shower area and the attendant will direct you to a clean shower.

Some places like LAX T4 Flagship Lounge you need to ask for a key at the reception desk. If the showers are all busy they will take you name and page you when one is free (and clean).

All very easy and don't hesitate to ask at the reception desk. In my experience the staff are very willing to assist.

And you will find that there is sufficient space inside the shower room / cubicle to keep your laptop bag / briefcase out of harms way while you are showering.

And even more willing to assist if you're smelly.

Speaking of showers, has anyone found one better than BA's at their LHR T4 lounge (the big one)? One nozzle for your head, one for your upper body and one for your lower body.

Best shower I've ever had. :D

I have seen something similar in a hotel I have stayed at in Spain - from memory it had about 5 or 6 nozzles so you get a jet of water from nearly every direction. The jets were concealed in the wall of the shower so I got quite a surprise when I first turned on the tap

QF lounge at SIN has nice showers ;) but the best I've had so far would be at FRA LH FCT (although the new NH NRT F lounge not too far behind).

I do like the Rain Showers in The Wing at HKG. Not as many options as the BA showers - just got to be careful where some of those nozzles are pointing  .

I had one of these showers in a room at the Mandarin in Singapore. Certainly was a surprise, although the jets weren't concealed I didn't realise what was about to happen!
