Hi Guys

Tomorrow i am flying Melb - BKK on BA booked on the BA website. In my qantas freq flyer log in i have 2 different booking numbers for this route? ONe of them with the domestic leg mel-syd showing a QF number and another showing a BA number on it. What one of these do i check in with in Melbourne?

Also, i havent actually flown domestically and linked in to a international before so how would i interline the bags? IM guessing i should not check in using the new bag tags and do it all my self? Should i check in with an agent to have baggage sent all the way through to BA or do i have to pick them up in Syd and re check in at BA?

Hopefully that make sense. Please forgive me if i should have posted elsewhere, couldnt find a post

You need to use an agent. There should be an "International connections" desk.

I can't see any issues with getting your bags checked through. I assume what has happened is that it is one booking, but BA has split part of it off to QF for their part of the booking.

Print both out, but either booking should be enough information for you to get your bags checked through and (most likely) both boarding passes issued.

Thanks Mal. So i shouldnt try use self check in kiosk and those self serve baggage things? Should go to a premium desk ? :)

Try if you want, but it will either give an error (Next Gen pole) or print out an error slip "see staff" (or something similar) if you visit a kiosk.

Haven't seen the arrangements in MEL for a while (not too frequent a visitor there), but pretty sure there is still a desk specifically for International connection passengers.

Someone local will be able to give the current situation.

I'm not local but do use both domestic and international facilities a lot. I suggest you use the Qantas domestic human check-in. They will interline your bags for the next BA flight to Bkk and should issue you with both boarding passes.

Have a good flight and if you are WP, enjoy the Syd F Lounge.

Last year i had a similar situation Syd Mel HKG LHR all different PRN's

If you go to the intl connections in Mel you should be able to check in for all flights and bags go with that. They may give you a little grief (can't do that, never done that before) but if you ask nicely they will try and do it. Its preetty easy from what i saw. You might ring QF Cust service today / tomorrow and get them to link the PRN's in the booking and check in systems, this should make it easier.

Just a NB, they may not be any cust service at the check in so try the premum, you will get better service.

Have a good flight:arrow:
