Hi guys

Travelling with 8 friends to Melbourne on 9 to 11 Nov for a weekend away. Looking for apartment style accommodation (need 4 rooms, can be 2x 2 bedroom apartments).

I like Southbank but happy to go elsewhere in the city (not St Kilda).

Any suggestions/recommendations? Budget not an issue but about $50 per person per night would be good.

Thanks.

Melbourne Cup in Tues 6 Nov;, Oaks day is Thus 8 Nov; Sat 10 Nov is Stakes days:
A VERY busy time in Melb for accommodation, but many leave on the Friday
At $50 per day per person you are in backpacker territory. $400 for the 8 of your is hopefull

Try all the properties on the Quest website...you may get lucky and be able to get a 3 Bedroom Apartment and then a 1 Bedroom
Also try Medina, Clarion Suites, PuntHill, Somerset, (all chains with numerous properties) and the HarbourView Apartment Hotel which is in your budget

Very nice apartments and usually have 2x 2 bedrooms in each of the buildings. Stayed at the Freshwater Place 2 bedroom deluxe and it was very nice and close to everything, 5 mins to casino, 5 mins to Flinders St, 5 Mins to City.

Easy too, unlike most apartments or private places you have to do a full clean, all they ask is for towels to be put in the washing machine.

Just stayed 4 nights in a 1 bedroom apartment at the Medina Northbank. Decent sized apartments, serviced very well every day and fairly cheap - ended up being just under $700. The only downside is that the shower is very poor... terrible pressure (it's more like a fine mist) and the water sprays all over the bathroom floor thanks to the shower/bath's half glass screen.
