Melbourne Drinks Night - Wednesday 20 FEB 2013

Okay, we are now in February, so I am happy to confirm some details:


Date / Time:
6pm - Wed 20 Feb 2013.

Venue:
Bear Brass in Southbank / Southgate.

Bear Brass is on the ground floor of the Southgate Plaza building (on the river side). NB: You do not need to go into the building to enter the venue as it is one of the many resturants which is half inside, half outside.

On Wednesdays Bear Brass have a $15 'pizza & pint' special.

This is a laid back venue, so I don't anticipate it being busy, however I have made a booking as a courtsey. Please try to confirm your status by the Monday prior so I can advise BearBrass of numbers.

Happy New Year folks!

I think it's about time we had another drinks night down in the capital of the Democraitc People's Republic of Victoria (DPRV).

Although I am technically a resident, I am feeling like more and more of a foreigner in Melbourne. As such, I am happy to take venue suggestions, but I think we should keep this in the CBD. I have a couple of ideas, but happy to see what people suggest before locking down the venue.

One suggestion I had was Father's Office in QV. For those not familiar with the venue, it is the old Match Bar with a facelift designed to make it look older (tacky?). It should be cheaper than the last venue and it is close to Chinatown, Melbourne Central and the QV complex, should we wish to head elsewhere. It is cheap and has a happy hour. The downside is that the wine list is quite limited.
