Will be in Melbourne tomorrow...arrival about 0850, departure 2100.

4pax...What's a good option to get to convention centre and back? Taxi/hire car?

Sky bus to southern cross then a tram to convention centre if you don't want to walk.

Just looked at normal Hertz rates for those times $55 without any of the extras, quick and easy option. Saves the hassle of having to get on/off the bus and then getting a cab.
Otherwise if price is no option, just take a cab to and from.

Cab, door to door, seems appropriate, considering 4 pax, no issues with parking, filling in petrol.

I'm pretty sure I've heard here that a pre-booked driver service in MEL to the city is roughly the same as a cab... and I know which one I would prefer :)

Skybus does end up about 750m walk down the road from the Convention centre, but thinking of the cost of 4pax on the Skybus - not really a great option.
