Melbourne to Vientiane via Changi

I'm looking at booking a return trip from Melbourne to Vientiane via Changi, arriving at Changi terminal 2. The second flight would have to be with Scoot, from terminal 1. Does anyone know whether I would be able to check in and check baggage in right through to Vientiane?

This would enable us to get some sleep in one of the airside transit hotels, essentially treating the transition like any other, without having to collect bags. go thru immigration and customs, then check back in the next morning.

If you're flying Singapore Airlines from Melbourne, it may arrive at Changi terminal 1, 2 or 3.

According to the Scoot website:
"You'll enjoy through check-in to your final destination if you have Scoot and Singapore Airlines flights booked in the same itinerary."

Thanks. Looks like it's not like Qantas/Jetstar then!

I presume that works both ways. i.e. from Singapore Air to Scoot, and from Scoot to Singapore?

Would also appreciate anybody who has done a similar thing (not necessary to Vientiane) could share their experience.
