A few years ago we had Yum Cha lunch in Melbourne as a monthly event. After a while its popularity died as it became too regular. As we haven't had it for a while it's time to give it another go and that will be in two weeks time on August 11th, as a few people are already in Melbourne that weekend.

Please indicate if you are interested below so we can have an idea of numbers. Actual time and venue TBA.

For simplicity we'll keep it to:
Platinum: Definite
Gold: I like to be there but cannot commit yet
Bronze: Not attending
Copper: Penegal

Platinum:

Gold:

Bronze:

A Bronze shade of Copper:
Penegal.*

* penegal’s real status for all FT & AFF do’s:- Copper - I won't know until the last minute as work may get in the way or I may have to fly to SIN or somewhere else for one reason or another or I just can't make up my mind. He will show up some time!

If this is a lunch gathering, Bronze. If a dinner gathering, Gold.

I am probably Gold... my alter-ego will be in Melbourne that weekend but my flight home departs MEL at 13:30 so if it starts early enough I could stop by at the start if there's a good/easy onwards connection to the airport.

If this is a lunch gathering, Bronze. If a dinner gathering, Gold.
I have added lunch into the text. (Traditionally Yum Cha is lunch I believe)

I'm actually bronze for this one. Will be in ZQN with @samh004 senior.

Sam, perhaps we need to start mid-morning (brunch) and tag-team with the lunch/afternoon contingent. Otherwise I will need to be Bronze to make a departure slightly earlier than Sam's.

He starts his journey to ZQN tomorrow night... one of the few flights I actually have noted down of his.

I'll stick with you with regards to departure time I reckon.

We have a booking for 5 people from 11am until 1pm on Sunday at Shark Fin House 131 Little Bourke St Melbourne. Booking name 'Bill'

Shark Fin House

Late starters welcome but please let me know as they are pretty tight on times and numbers.

* I know 11am is a bit early but it was that or 1:30pm which is too late for those travelling.

Am now home after a wonderful meal with like minded people.

Food was good except not enough variety in vegetarian food despite advertising it as being available.

Still, it was fun and I walked through my front door literally seconds before the rain started.
