Greetings AFFers,

I was considering joining Le Club as over the next few months I shall be staying at Sofitel and a I think Novotel (to be confirmed) and was looking at joining up. Shame that there is no Platinum offer at the moment.

Do you have to join before you start staying at their hotels in order to get points? Or can you join when you turn up at the hotel and be credited points straight away.

I am asking b/c I am hoping for another Platinum membership drive before my first visit with them in about two weeks.

Also are people generally just crediting their points to QFF or other airlines? From what I can gather there is not much up for grabs from Le Club.

Has membership offered you other perks like discounts off hotel stays, other extras? I ask this of your personal experience with Le Club and not just from what a website says that they offer (may be different in the real world if you know what I mean).

Thanks for any help.

I just found this in Le Club FAQ

I have just joined the Le Club Accorhotels program and I stayed in a participating hotel soon after I registered. Will my account be credited for this stay?

No, your account will not be credited for this stay.

"Soon after I registered" is a bit vague but it looks like I will have to join in the next few days given that it takes 2-3 weeks to issue a card.

Has anyone joined at check in and had any problems with their first stay?
It's all a bit vague.

You can join before you stay and the card will be issued to you after your first stay (though sometimes it does arrive before) They only need the number, so if you see a Plat link you'll have no problems. You cannot join and be given points after your stay.
Just keeping in mind, even being Plat with Le Club these days doesn't guarantee you upgrades or points, as some Sofitel's and Novotel's do not participate in the program.

Thank you for your help. I found the list of hotels that do not participate on another thread. I was thinking that when I get points I may as well send them on to QFF as at best I would make Silver easily but probably not gold on their program and when I can I may as well receive a few more points. I see it as one step closer to my next JASA. Every point counts eh?

I don't do jetlag.

Be aware that you can only transfer to Qff in 4000 point blocks. But at least it is 1:1.

I am LeClub gold member but have seen some blogs on promo's (now expired) on how to become PT. Does anyone have any suggestions. I am Virgin PT if that helps.

thanks

Can you direct earn QFF points at Accor hotels? ie. QFF number on the booking.

Yes you transfer to QFF but only after they are accrued at Le Club; and transfer rate is 1:1.
So you have to log inot Le Club, click on "Manage my Le Club Accorhotels points" and complete the form.
There is a minimum of 4000 points to transfer.

I don't bother as I stay at Accor enough to use the vouchers available in USD or EUR.
