Flightradar24.com - Live flight tracker! states that MH has banned checked luggage on flights between KUL and AMS CDG and LHR due to 'strong head winds.'
The ABC has picked up on this:
Malaysia Airlines temporarily bans checked baggage for flights to Europe due to 'safety, strong head winds' - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)
My first reaction was that this was an April Fool's Day joke almost three months early; my subsequent hypothesis is that the airline has not paid some bills to a ground handling company (but wouldn't sometimes both the check in staff and baggage handlers be from the same subcontractor?
Logically, if one airline was doing it and it was legitimately a reason, others such as SQ (SIN - LHR0 and QF (MEL or SYD - DXB) would also do the same.
