Effective 01 February 2012 Malaysia Airlines (MH) begins to participate and new destinations have been added to the Global Explorer Fares (LGLOB*/ DGLOB*/ AGLOB*)

The question is if you book a flight with MH will you be able to credit the FF to QA?

Later this year for miles etc:

[TD="colspan: 2"] oneworld member elect Malaysia Airlines starts participating in Global Explorer from today, adding one of the most attractive networks in South East Asia to the round-the-world fare offered by all members of the alliance.

For customers, the move represents a first step by Malaysia Airlines towards its implementation into oneworld, which is on track for later this year - when it will start participating in the full range of the alliance's fares and offering all the alliance's other services and benefits.

This will add almost 20 more cities in South East Asia and two more countries - Brunei and Myanmar - to the Global Explorer map, expanding the round-the-world fare's global coverage to more than 900 destinations in some 150 countries.

oneworld member elect Kingfisher Airlines already participates in Global Explorer, ahead of its implementation to the alliance on 10 February, with fellow member elect airberlin's network to be added when it boards oneworld later this spring. Both will start participating in the full range of the oneworld fares once they join the alliance.

So sad, I'm just about to book a trip to Kuala Lumpur for later this month. But no accrual to QFF :(

There is always velocity....

Sent from my HTC Legend using AustFreqFly

Indeed, but an equivalent trip with Oneworld would have retained my Gold with another 10months til anniversary. I just dont have any luck.

I'm sad I'm flying JetStar Asia between Singapore and KL. I would love a direct flight from Aus with OW.

Heck, so would I, and also I'd like domestic Malaysian flights that counted for something other than enrich (says he who had a misconnect in KUL last night)

I'm flying in June and Malaysian seems to offer a good balance in terms of price and quality. I take it no OW points though...yet
Has anyone gone MEL-KL-Paris in J? I can't work out from the reviews whether all their (rather old?) planes are lie flat. Angled flat not a problem for me.

Seatguru.com suggests angled lie flat only.

MEL-KUL will be on a 'new' A330-300. They have angled flat seats in Business. Malaysia have some older A330-300s and A330-200s that don't have lie flat seats, they that are normally used for regional Asian routes. It would be very unusual to see them on Australian flights.

KL to Paris will be on a 777 (or sometimes rarely a 747). Business class on the 777s is a angled lie flat seat as well. I think the seats in the 777s have less of an angle than the A330s. Personally I prefer business on the 777 it is a good product both hard and soft. Although the 777s are starting to show their age.
