Gday all,

Firstly, to the moderators, I apologise in advance if I’ve started this topic in the wrong board, please feel free to move to a more appropriate location.

Just a few queries re: impending visit to the great US of A.

Flying MH92 from KUL > NRT > LAX, arrival: 1445hrs

We have decided to bypass a visit to LA and fly straight to SFO. Not having flown into LAX or MH (on this sector) before, would like a few points clarified.

Question 1: Having read a few threads re: arrival in to LAX, I am still a little unclear of the exact picture when it comes to LAX Customs and Immigration. With roughly 8 international flights (mainly from Asia/Pacific) arriving within 10-15 minutes of each other, should one expect a tediously long wait?

Question 2: With options between UA and AA, LAX – SFO departure times of 1750, 1852pm, 1942, 2005. Naturally would like a smoko break before the domestic leg, so aiming for a leisurely walk from TBIT to AA/UA. Which departure time would you recommend? Erring on the side of caution I’m swaying towards the latest departure, but am cognisant that I’ll be twiddling my fingers at the gate should the customs/immigration process be expeditious.

Question 3: Will we have business lounge access during transit in NRT? From previous threads, it appeared the previous TPE stopovers did not entitle C/J PAX to lounge access. Some say yes to CI lounge, while others say no. I could easily contact MH support, but there’s a reason I am a member of AFF! Plus I am lazy…

Thanks y'all.

Rgds

Hello AFF,

No one out there with any words of wisdom or advice?

Surely someone must have flown this MH routing who can shed some light.

Especially need guidance with TBIT > US Dom terminals as I will be booking flights shortly.
