Hi All,

In June I will need to fly from HKG-SIN. I am a QFF WP/OWE.

I have 2 choices:

either MH HKG-KUL-SIN (A380 & 737) in Business
OR CX HKG-SIN (747 or A330) in Economy.

Out of these 2 flights which would you take purely based on Customer service and OW status recognition and not on cabin class.
Yes I realise the MH is J and in general J is always better, but for such a short daytime flight J or Y doesn't matter, MH J is slightly more expensive than the CX Y ticket but I have to connect via KUL to get to SIN.

If people think MH (OW) or J service is ordinary or lacking I may as well just go with CX Y as I have heard good things about OWE treatment on CX.

It's only going to be a short trip (QF) MEL-SYD-HKG, (MH or CX) HKG-(xKUL)-SIN, (QF) SIN-MEL over 3 days.

Comments appreciated!

Hkg-Kul/Sin is still 3+ hrs so I will always take J over Y, for the SCs too.

From my exp flying both MH and CX as WP. CX have been in OW for longer so they are more refined in recognising WPs/OWE.

Just be weary on CX you may end up with a late swap - so you may not end up on the config you want.

Convenience wise I'd say CX but SC's wise for a minimal outlay (compared to Y) I'd say MH

I'm leaning towards MH now even with the extra KUL hop, will be interesting to compare MH's A380 with QF's.
I will report back after my flight at the start of June.

MH Flight booked, row 6 on the A380 and row 1 on the 737.
It picked up my QFF status no problems and shows as Emerald on the ticket.

The same flight on CX in J HKG-SIN one-way was almost double the cost of MH J.

Having flown both MH and CX recently, I would say the service you get on MH will be better (regardless in J or Y), but you'll probably get more recognition as a OWE on CX.

I would have booked MH as well
