MH 'year-end sale'

I don't think they are much god at all, pretty much in line with what's on offer from other full service carriers into Asia for instance.

The J prices are much better than the Y ones, don't you think?

Think the examples show if you have 1000 MH points, the cash + points deals are cheaper than cash only.
e.g. oneway MEL-KUL - 1,000 + $1000, versus near $3k cash.

Also note that MH fuel fines on redemptions are <<< versus SQ and QF

Now that is real funny.

This thread made me go to MH website to look at my next 2 returns ex-BKK and one is more expensive than usual and the other is missing the flights I need on return which will mean an overnight in SIN instead of BKK.

I am guessing cash + miles does not earn SCs and points on Qantas?

Correct cash+miles don't earn any miles/SC's

But great value. I had to go to KUL last week from SYD, return fare cash was $13xx, I used up 3000 enrich miles and I only paid $850+. But non earning fare.
