Hi All

I'm currently undertaking a small status run SYD-CBR-MEL-ADL (instead of SYD-ADL) to attend my upcoming wedding! I decided if i could make QFF Gold this membership year without spending much more than my intended travel spend (well, less than the QC joining fee/annual fee), i'd take the long way home, see the sights etc.. as it were, and make gold!

When i booked, tickets SYD-ADL were $165 and SYD-CBR-MEL-ADL was about $190 inc fees so i happily booked myself on the long route as my other half is already in adelaide.

SYD is home and i was booked on QF1463 at 7:40 this morning so i rocked up to long term park at about 6am, got to the terminal about 6:10, and headed back to the car in long term about 6:11 as i had a bad feeling that i left the car unlocked! 6:20 and back in the long term carpark i did a driveby of my golf whilst in the bus and locked it up!

Back at the terminal about 6:30 i dropped my bags in about 2 minutes flat (no queues at all in the pleb bag drop!) and headed over to gate 17 for a bit of a wait.

The flight was fairly uneventful, headed down the coast past wollongong and headed inland towards CBR.

Landed in CBR on time (i think!) and thats where i'm sitting now, organising the wedding music in the lounge.

Next update in MEL in about an hours time!

edit:

Well CBR-MEL on QF763 was on time as hoped, fairly uneventful flight. Had cookies & a coke for a bit of a snack. About halfway into the flight the captain came on the PA system and told us that we were being told by traffic control to slow down as the airport was jammed! Lovely. I had a fairly tight connection on this leg so things were going to be tricky.

We eventually landed with 5 minutes up my sleeve to boarding so i had to run from one end of QF's terminal to the other to the other gate. Luckily, i got there with a few minutes to spare and we ended up boarding late

Final leg (cant remember the flight number) was fairly uneventful. We left a few minutes late and ended up coming into ADL on time. We had a little bit of turbulence but nothing too major. Lunch was a salami and cheese pizza pocket (which i thought was an odd on QF but very tasty) and a ginger beer (having this on board is one of the best things Qantas have done in recent times!)

All in all a good trip and now frantically planning for the wedding!

Next flights are back home to SYD on Monday and off to NAN on Wednesday!
