Minimum Points Guarantee -v- Multiple Seats

Does anyone know the story here?

Say if I book a spare seat for a trip SYD-CBR. Apparently you earn points, but not SC's, for the second seat.

Would one earn 2 x 1,000 MPG or does the guarantee give a minimum *total* of 1,000 points?

Can you please report back after you have done this as to how Qantas treats this - ie for both status credits and points.

A similar question was raised here a couple of days ago and we got three "correct" answers:

1 - You earn SCs but no points on the second seat
2 - You earn points but no SCs on the second seat
3 - One has earned points but no SCs one time and SCs but no points another time

Not exactly definitive experiences...

No I mean the base points for that trip are only 148 minimum. This is then bumped up to 1,000 under the MPG.

If using two tickets/seats, would it give you 2 x 148 then bump that to 1k or give you 1k for each ticket/seat?

Interesting question but from memory I have only seen one post on AFF where someone purchased 2 seats on the same flight and got the points but no SCs for the second seat without a lot of details posted.

If I had to guess I would say that the 1,000 QFF points minimum guarantee would apply to the second seat as well but I am not certain. Anyone care to try this out and report back?
