Does anyone know how long it takes for Qantas to assign FF points for hotel bookings?

I booked 2 nights in Canberra on Feb 1&2 and the points have not showed up on my account. Do I need to chase them up? If so, is there a specific phone number or email address to use - couldn't find one on the website.

Thanks.

I'd send a FAX with copies of your stay invoices and a covering letter with your FF number and other details to: 1300 305 747

You can also email with images of your stay invoices attached to [email protected] ...

I emailed Qantas about a month ago and asked them the same question, as I had two stays overseas in Singapore (6-8 January) and Hong Kong (29 Jan-5 Feb). Got a phone call from them about a week later saying that it could take up to 8 weeks. If it doesn't go through, then I would need to chase it up with Qantas Holidays and the hotel. Surely it can't be that difficult??

Oh yeah, and I'm still yet to see anything from it!

Sometimes it amazes me just how quickly QFF points post for hotel stays. I stayed at Best Western in Traralgon from 15-18 March 2009 and the QFF points, including the double QFF points bonus promotion, posted on 20 March 2009.

On the other hand if QFF points have not posted from hotel stays in a couple of weeks I just send off a fax of the invoice with a note explaining that I have not received the QFF points yet and it normally gets processed within a few days. I have never been told that I have to wait up to 8 weeks for the points to post.

Qantas duty free is one of the worst offenders. I purchased duty free on a QF flight in September and the QFF points did not post until sometime in December when I had forgotten about them and I purchased duty free again in December and the QFF points have not appeared in my account yet....

Thanks for posting that email addy serfty, I was looking for it to send a copy of my guest folio for a hotel stay at the start of February which I'd not received my points for as yet. Tried all the obvious places, you would have thought the QF website FAQ engine would provide details about claiming lost points for partners other than flights wouldn't you.... :-|

I know this may sound silly but did you look at the Help --> Contacts on the QF website. I know it does not specifically mention how to claim lost QFF points but it is very close. The fax number is there and if you really want to email the QFF service centre then provide feedback and they will contact you asking for further information.

Just post them a photocopy of the tax invoice. I think sometyimes it might be the Hotels too. I stayed at a Hotel in Sydney in early Feb, they asked for my QFF # but no points appeared after a fortnight. I sent a copy of the Tax Invoice & request to QFF but nothing appeared after a months. Simply semt them another letter with copies again and Hey Presto points appeared within about 10 days. Possibly the Hotels are a bit remiss as no doubt they pay not QANTAS ?

I've NEVER had points post automatically, always had to contact qantas. I do it by fax with a copy of the tax invoice, and the points are usually there within 2 weeks, often 1. Even got a phone call from someone on 2 occassions saying points had posted and to apologise for the inconvenience.

It's a mixed bag for me.

For some hotels - especially big chain ones - points post within days after checkout.

In many other cases, I've had to chase up QF for hotel points. In fact, almost every hotel stay in my first trip to NZ last year I had to chase up; in other cases there were bonus promotions and I had to chase the bonus points (not the base points).

My Hilton Double Dip points reliably post. No other hotel seems to post by themselves.

I'm having this same dilemma. Does this rule apply to o/s hotels and/or car hire? SHould I at least try

I am still owed 30K plus points from a Traralgon motel from a couple of years ago JohnK, I had 1/2 the motel booked for 2 weeks, paid for and my FF card swiped - never showed up...

I wouldn't stay at any motel between 2 pubs...

Mr!

I had no problems with QFF points posting for the Best Western Motel in Traralgon a few weeks ago. In fact they posted within a couple of days of check-out but the credit card has not been billed yet.

You should have sent a fax/email of the invoice to QFF asking for the missing points within 6 months of staying at the motel.
