Qantas Premium Regional Lounge For Mackay 20 May 2011
QantasLink announced today it would build a new Qantas Regional Lounge at Mackay Airport.
QantasLink Executive Manager, Mr Narendra Kumar, said QantasLink was committed to providing a network of upgraded, as well as new, premium lounges in key ports across Australia.
“QantasLink is the leading regional airline when it comes to Queensland,” Mr Kumar said.
“Mackay is a key resource and tourism centre in Central Queensland and is an important growth market for QantasLink which offers air links to Brisbane, Gladstone, Rockhampton, Townsville and Cairns.
“We are strongly focused on providing a comprehensive network and schedule across 21 Queensland destinations that meets the needs of local communities, business and industry customers, as well as the tourism sector.
“Already this year, with the arrival of more flagship 74-seat Bombardier Q400 aircraft, we have added thousands of seats and dozens of new services linking Brisbane with Barcaldine, Blackall, Bundaberg, Emerald, Gladstone, Hervey Bay, Longreach, Mackay, Moranbah, Rockhampton and Roma.
“Just as importantly, we are investing in new and improved customer services and infrastructure such as regional airport lounge facilities.
“We have recently introduced new Q Card Reader technology in Mackay as part of our faster, smarter Next Generation Check-in innovation, with Q Bag Tag technology to also follow in coming months.
“With these significant customer service initiatives, the time is also right for us to build a premium Qantas Regional Lounge at Mackay Airport, located on the terminal’s upper level.”
The 280 square metre lounge when completed will reflect the same style as Qantas Regional Lounges across Australia and offer Qantas Club members and Platinum and Gold Frequent Flyers a range of services including:
