Maybe a bit of fun for members, what is the most expensive Any Seat ticket you can find, just found Manila to Sydney on QF20 1st March (J), cost, wait for it TWELVE MILLION, NINE HUNDED & SEVENTY FIVE THOUSAND, ONE HUNDRED & EIGHTEEN POINTS (12,975,118) or 60,000 points plus 124,666 PHP which is approx $A3,000

What can you come up with?

If you take the connecting flight option on CX via HKG, you can increase it to 12,994,578! Flying to space and back in F still wouldn't get you that many miles, I think.

The cost box might as well say, "You can have this seat over our dead bodies"

I suspect something is fried in the way it converts pesos to points.

given that manila is nearly always available for redemption this is a little silly.

For that cost I expect the whole plane to be empty - and only me on it.
In other words that over 12 000 bne-syd trips.

And interestingly, the same seat is there as a classic award for 60000 - hmm, now are those SCs really worth an extra 12,915,000points? Thats one heck of a status run!

This question raises my thoughts on just how many just click on ANY SEAT and burn off a million points on a one way flight to somewhere because points are not cash.
Friends of ours did a points plus pay midnight flight that cost about $1200 one way if you valued the Qantas points used at 2 cents each and then added on the cash component.
Not a bargain!
