Moving points to Ascent Premium?

Hi All,

Quick question.

I currently have a gold card and am enrolled in the new ascent program. I was looking at getting a platinum charge card which would be on the ascent premium MR program. Is there any way I can transfer my existing points to the new program when I get the new card?

When I moved to Amex Plat Charge my Gold stat was stil active but all point activity (including the Plat CC related activity) is grouped under my Plat Chg.

So yes it should be fine.

So did you keep your Gold card active? I was planning on canceling mine, since I'll get the Platinum CC as well...

It took them a few months to cancel the gold card and delete it from my online account info page.

I recently went through a similar process as well, though I had a Platinum Credit Card and Gold Charge card attached to that for no annual fee. I added a Platinum Charge Card and my points all migrated automatically across to Ascent Premium program. Surprisingly I called to cancel my Gold Charge Card and they offered me $100 credit on the card to retain it - given there's no annual fee anyway who was I to say no! .
