You don't get any SC awarded until after the flight, therefore you remain NB until after the flight and you don't get the status bonus until the next flight you take. Sorry!
Status change does not occur until the points and SC for that flight post, and there is no backdated change for half a flight! You go from 340 - 360 in one go, not 340 to 350 mid flight, then to 360 after the flight.
It is nice though when the SCs come through quickly. When I was due to hit SG level on my morning trip CBR-BNE, I deliberately did not check in for the return flight that afternoon so that the return BP would show the new status.
