Great link - even offers 15% rebate on Australian IC stays ( payable into PayPal )

Sounds too good to be true ... how do THEY make money out of this scheme?

GORDO

The 15% rebates offer is still on (and dont forget it counts for reward nights as well), my last weekend stay in Melbourne just posted as a $78 rebate - sweet! Be interesting to see what tonights pointsbreak stay posts as!

Nice. so the conditions of the offer is you must go through their link?
I wonder if the rebate amount for points breaks or reward nights are based on the value of the room?

Its based on what the hotel bills PC for in $, in the case of points break at CP Surfers, I was getting $5 back on the 15%.

Thanks. they must have roughly used the 0.7c per point to work it out.

It depends on occupancy as to how much they can claim. A pointsbreak has been known to be as high as $400 or so for a night.

interesting. Theoretically then it could be possible to be around $5 ahead and stay in a free room, if it was based at $400.

If you need to book a room via the Mr. Rebates website link ... then you can't use a PP voucher, such as the BOGO ?? Is this correct?

Yes, that is correct.

I still do not quite understand this deal.

Book through this website, earn normal PC points and status and get a rebate?

I don't get it?

They are using the commission to fund it, most sites now have such schemes even those in the non travel industry which is why cashback exists for a large number of sites.

Its pretty good when they have the specials:

It is amazing how affiliate schemes work. The official answer is
"we would pay more for advertising or travel agent fees"... But yes they are good.

Locally everyone who has gotten into the act cream way too much off. Yes velocity, yes moneybackco, yes starthere etc i am looking at you.

As i still have a UK back account quidco works wonders for me. Nothing in Australia comes close, yet it is a simple business model to follow...
