Will be in SFO 10/8 to 15/8, no intention of hiring a car till we leave to drive back to LA. There are a number of companies who do tours to both Muir Woods and the Napa Valley in one day. Have any of you been on one of these and if so who would you recommend. If we are going to the vineyards, obviously don't want to drive.

Cheers

I did a 'Dylan's Tours' to Muir Woods a few weeks ago but it did not incl Napa, but I seem to remember that they did have one. Dylan's gets good reviews on TripAdvisor.

I did this last year
Tom Martell's Famous Muir Woods Tour - Walking Tour Among the Muir Woods Redwoods - A San Francisco Sightseeing Hotspot
small group, picks you up from hotel in downtown SF, cross GGB to Muir Woods, good walk in the woods
drops you off at Sausalito for you to explore and have lunch
Make your way back across the bay on the ferry
Enjoyed the walk and visit
*the morning tea he provides is simple, something you can grab from a supermarket but thoroughly adequate

Tried to book this however Tom is on holidays when we are there.

We did Dylans Tours and it was good to get some logistics around SF and a short stop at Muir Woods but you don't get a lot of time at Muir and to be quite honest, a lot of the "tour" is "now out this window, you will see"... as you drive past but did stop to photo the bridge and a city view.

The stop at Muir woods was enough to have a bite to eat (I bought subs at a Haight stop) and quick walk at Muir - I think we got to bridge 3 by memory so about an hour.
