Hey all,

Have not made any rewards bookings on Virgin before and cant seem to be able to navigate the website to do a multi city booking.

IE - I want to fly PER - MEL - AUH.

I can do a simple search for either leg and see availability but trying to use the multi city tool only seems to allow me domestic options.

Am I doing something wrong or is there anyway to do what I am trying?

The website only does domestic multi city bookings.

I think it can be done if you call and potentially depends on the operators knowledge.

You can try editing this url to make use of multi city - Edit BNE to be your Origin port; destination DOH then DOH to CDG etc :) Good luck! (You'll need to edit the url then copy/paste the url into a new tab for the edits to load) - And change the dates too Month/Day/year 04-05-2023

Code:
https://book.virginaustralia.com/dx/VADX/#/flight-selection?journeyType=multi-city&ADT=1&CHD=0&INF=0&class=First&promoCode=&showPromoCode=&awardBooking=true&channel=&icmpid=&tbOption=0&pos=au-en&activeMonth=04-01-2023&origin=BNE&destination=DOH&date=04-05-2023&origin1=DOH&destination1=CDG&date1=04-06-2023&dxSlot=0&execution=051ff58f-0827-47f1-98a3-a61bd8596b25

Thank you for that, will give it a go

When doing multicity I've found that the resulting flights don't match the option I've clicked on.
For instance I'm looking at Rome to Doha to Perth. A "First reward" option appears, when clicked on and going in to the flight details it says "Flight Class:Economy" for both flights.
I expected the first flight to be business because there is no first available on that flight, but the Doha to Perth has First available. It's just weird that both flights then say economy when clicking through.
I might have to call and see what they can do but it's frustrating that they don't have a working multicity on the website.

For multi-city reward flights where Flight 1 and Flight 2 are with the same carrier and the connecting time is less 24 hours, shouldnt it price the itinerary using the total distance rather than pricing them individually and combining?

Sadly no go. found lots of flights but on payment page I just get
Technical error when processing the request

Can anyone confirm if this holds true for Velocity redemptions?
I am looking to book a multi-city option (Milan - Doha - Perth)...with <24 hour stopover in Doha. Cannot do so online, so hopefully can be done by phone, but want to know if it is priced as 'one itinerary' rather than two distinct (which will obviously cost more points)?

Yes, same airline with only a layover is priced as a single itinerary, not the sum of the two legs. If there are multiple airlines from different award charts involved then they add up (e.g., QR + a dom VA leg).

Your itinerary should be bookable online as MXP - PER, if there is availability, but you can't select the individual legs, only whatever it offers up. It should be 121k points plus taxes/charges for QR J. For example I found one here at random:

As a comparison, booked individually MXP - DOH in J is 55k and DOH - PER is 78k, so 133k total vs 121k. (But of course separate bookings comes with the risk of missing your connection if something goes wrong with the first leg).

Ok thanks - looking again - I think it might because the Milan - Doha leg only has availability in Business; but Doha - Perth only has availability in First, so it can't 'price' the reward?
