Hi all, was just hoping for a little bit of information on Multi City bookings with Classic Awards. I would like to book Syd-Tokyo then Osaka-Siem Reap then Phnom Penh-Hong Kong and lastly Hong Kong-Syd for February 2017. As all the flight dates haven't been released yet I'm unable to book all flights but I have seen the Syd-Tok flight I want and worried it wont be there in 3 weeks time when I could book whole trip together. So my questions are... Is there anyway to reserve that award ticket until I can book the rest of the flights or should I just pay the extra tax and book that flight and then book the other sectors all together? When booking other sectors starting with Osaka-Siem Reap the tax prices come up in JPyen are all the rules and flight changes the same as it would be if I had booked the full trip starting in Syd. Thank you

If I recall correctly, previous advice has been to book the available awards then call to have segments added as they're released. There will probably be a fee (4000 points?) to change the booking. But if you meet the rules for a Oneworld award it should re-price accordingly. This is just based on my memory of other threads here. Hopefully, someone will be along to confirm or deny the situation.

There might be some help in this thread.

If you're spending time in Japan, is there any advantage to booking in all on one itinerary?

The only advantage at this point that I can see is saving $160 in taxes. I just wasn't sure if there was any downsides to paying for the rest of the booking in Yen as I didnt know if there are any different fare rules was just confused as to why when I am on the Qantas Australia site using the Multi City tool that I didn't have option to pay in Australian dollars.
