Hi guys,

I'm trying to get some pricing from the QF site for these destinations:

mel-sin-del-lhr-sin-mel

The singapore is just a transit.

I tried entering it on the QF site as a multi-city but when it get to the DEL-LHR leg it can't find any flights. I've not done this before but i know there is a BA Flight (ba142) that does that leg.

How can i easily get a costing on all of this? ring QF or get a TA to do it?

Cheers,

Nick

From experience a lot of partner flights do not always appear on the QF booking engine.

You may have to get it done direct with QF or a travel agent.

Same thing when I check things like PER-SIN-LHR-MAN, tells me that there is no direct connection LHR-MAN and to refer to timetable.

The other thing that really annoys me is that you cannot change class on a multi-leg. For example, premium economy is not available PER-SIN, so I only get offered economy, biz and first as options, even though SIN-LHR has premium.

multicity can drive you bonkers; especially if you need flexi fares or complicated cities.
Ring QF and push for no fee on the bkg??
If they say no then lassie down to your nearest flight centre, and let the operator know thats what you are going to do (for no apparent reason...)

Did that, fee waived when I suggested my alternative.

Ok another question, what would you recommend flying with:

BA on a 777 direct

or

Finn air on a 333/321 via HEL (purely for the SC's) and a different airport - about 4 hours extra all up.

lol! Fair enough. Although it is only 10sc more as i am going Y. I guess i am wondering what the better product is.

One of the BA flights (usually the cheaper one) leaves at a really dirty time IIRC. Finnair EU flights are buy on board food but if you can rig the stopover time in Helsinki, you might be able to sneak a free day in HEL.

For better status credits, you should also consider the Royal Jordanian option via Amman. You get a great connection in Amman. They fly the A330 from Amman to LHR. Quite an interesting place for a stopover if you so choose. Early 5.30am departure out of DEL though.....(In India, I sometimes prefer these early flights, so the nightmare of dealing with the traffic enroute to the airport is avoided)
