Getting this error going through a classic Rewards multi city booking, after selecting all my flights and entering passenger details...

Would a phone call and booking that way solve the problem??

I have found in the past it is one of the sectors in a multisector booking that causes the hiccup.
Have you tried each sector individually?
Sometimes has come up when the routing is mixed class.

Not an ideal option, as it's 5 flights between different countries - end up with different conditions and currencies
Sorry what I meant was have you tested each sector individually to see which one may be causing the failure. Not to actually book it that way.

I often test with one, two then three sectors etc to see what is working and what isn't. On one occasion the suggestions that came up caused a failure because MCT was breeched.

CX J PER-HKG 3 nights
CX J HKG-SIN open jaw (SQ to Europe)
EK F ZRH-DXB 3 nights
EK F DXB-SIN (9 hour layover)
QF J SIN-MEL-PER

Changing the flight home just to MEL didn't change anything, but deleting the 5th leg home resulted in a different error.

Could you break it up and do PER-HKG-SYD as one booking and the rest as a second booking?

I’m not too sure if I understand what the benefit is of including all of it on one ticket when you are using a separate ticket between SYD and Europe anyway (other than having all taxes and surcharges charged in AUD).

I’ve also had your first error before too on a DUB-LHR-DFW-SYD itinerary. I tried on the phone to fix it and they gave me every excuse possible for why it was not bookable.

I pushed back and in the end, they were able to book it and ticket it by assembling it backwards (ie they added MEL-PER first, and then added SIN-MEL, and then added all the others until they added PER-HKG last). My journey is less complex than yours but that way at least made it work (it took around 90 minutes on the phone).

DXB-SIN-MEL-PER must be searched as a single search otherwise you don't get correct origin-destination inventory. Furthermore, EK marries segments within 72 hours in DXB rather than 24 hours, so if your DXB transit is under 72 hours you might be getting hit there with incorrect inventory as well.

Flights in and out of DXB are 75 hours apart, finishing this itinerary in SIN still errors out.

DXB-PER doesn't even get to the date selection page

So it seems a booking a DXB stopover is not possible online - any attempt to do so gets me an error.

I can book the following multi-city itinerary:
PER-HKG / HKG-SIN / ZRH-SIN / SIN-PER
I see three options at this point:
  • Call FF Helpdesk to book the whole thing as originally priced online
  • Book as above then call FF Helpdesk to change the resulting DXB-SIN leg to another date
  • Wear the additional AU$600 taxes and book separately: PER-HKG-SIN-PER // ZRH-DXB // DXB-SIN
I'm wary to call Qantas to book, given the horror stories and my Silver status, but willing to try if others think it should work out

I've had all sorts of error reports this past week and now today I can't even log on to the website.

This is the same in Safari, Google Chrome and Firefox.

Actually, even the website is clunky and doesn't load properly for me at the moment. I've deleted my browsing history, cookies, cache.

I may have confused it with attempting a mixed class booking, including JQ domestic and international flights all over the place, but it should still be able to let me go back, edit my search and make it so that it's happy with it.

Fussy, the website is. :p:rolleyes:

A phone call helps. They'll waive the telephone booking fee if it's only because of website glitches. Only then they'll say that the fare and routing you found is not available, but then they could potentially release additional seats if you weren't able to book because of a glitch.

If you're nice.

Sometimes.

Not always.

Not for me today anyway. Of course, it's all really a bit of a mixed bag, as we've all found. There are reward seats currently showing up on the QF website that the customer service folk cannot see at their end because those flights aren't yet available... what does that even mean, QF?
