Hi everyone, I was wondering if there is any way of getting cheap flights to London, even if you have to take multiple flights via asia ?

There is a thread somewhere about an S7 fare to MOW for ~ $1100. You could add-on from there.

Otherwise try JQ to SIN then an ex-SIN flight, or AirAsiaX to KUL and on from there (MH presumably as AAX have cancelled their London service).

You other alternative is to try to cobble together a series of shorter-haul fares but would be messy and you'd have to allow decent (long) connections to allow for any stuff ups.

Royal Brunei often have quite good fares (now they fly MEL-BWN-DXB-LHR).

If you are going multiple times per year, it is also cheaper to book as EU-Aus-EU than Aus-EU-Aus.

Hi Andif. I would recommend Low Cost Carriers as they do have a large presence in Asia. Since you want to stop in Asia and you have not really given our community much information to assist you, you will probably just get generic advice. Can you add some more info.

JetStar, Tiger and Air Asia have flights to Asia from Australia. Air Asia can get you to Sri Lanka for a good price. Air Arabia can get you to the Middle East and on to North Africa / East Europe. European LCC's can get you to Europe.

Welcome!

I do appologise, I dont actually want / need to go via Asia. Simply SYD-LON what ever happens in between, just really hunting for a low fare. Sorry for the confusion.

Try buying an Air Asia fare SYD - KUL, then go to airlines Malaysian website to seek flights KUL - LHR.
MH, SQ, TG, EK, QR, EY, etc all fly this route.
However bear in mind that this is NOT a connecting flight so you will have to recheck baggage etc, and if your first flight is delayed, it wouldn't cover your second flight and you might have to purchase another ticket for your second flight.

Last time I flew to Europe, I purchased PER-SIN return via SQ's Australian website, then SIN-CPH 2 days later via a Singaporean travel agent.

Another approach is to get flights out of Indonesia. Even the major carriers have some very cheap flights that depart from Indonesia (incl. a multi-city from indonesia-Europe-Aus). THen you'll just need to avail of some cheap tickets to Bali or Jakarta (Bali may be the cheapest) to position yourself.

As mentioned before, this does run the risk of being impacted by delays/cancellations and your luggage would need to be collected and checked-in at the Indonesian airport.

Be aware that most countries require you to be in possesion of an onward or return ticket before you can gain entry.
