Is this possible to be priced as one ticket, all QF metal, classic J award:
MEL-SIN
SIN-MEL
MEL-SYD
SYD-MEL

4 stops total, with 2 in MEL.
Have to go to SIN anyway, which puts it at 7488 miles (according to GCM).
This is within the 7,001 - 8,400 band.
Adding a return trip to SYD makes it 8365 miles, so still within the band.
It's the same points cost (108.4k), just a bit more for taxes.

Anyone done or tried something similar before? If so, what was the outcome?

EDIT

I found this part: :(

14.3.5 A Classic Flight Reward Itinerary must contain no more than one departure from the city or country of first departure on that Itinerary.

Looks like it's a no.
Although I could book two one ways (outbound 68.4k points) and change the inbound into:
SIN-MEL
MEL-SYD
SYD-MEL
MEL-SIN
For 8365 miles (108.4k points) and start again (need to visit SIN a few times).
Although it's a slightly higher overall points cost, you're still ahead if you split the MEL-SYD J return trip at 27.6k.

You'd only get that price if it was one continuous journey (no stops grater than 24 hours)
Thanks. I clearly missed this part too:

14.4 Classic Flight Rewards - Qantas and Airline Partners only booking conditions

14.4.1 The Qantas Points required for a Classic Flight Reward Itinerary will be calculated as a one way Trip or series of one way Trips and will be the sum of the Qantas Points required for each Trip in that Itinerary.

Is that what you are referring to?

The only way to price a classic reward as the sum of the distances of multiple sectors is if they're all transits (no stopovers), or it's a oneworld award (need at least 2 other OW airlines on booking, among other limitations)

That sucks 😂
Bring back the ASA where we could do this!
Maybe that's where I'm getting it mixed up....
