Has anybody here hired a convertible before? I have one booked for 2 weeks from LAX in the new year and i know that it's tight for space but was wondering if anyone has first hand experience in getting suitcases in them. I'm expecting the back seat to take one and one in the boot. Any advice please?

I had a Mustang convertible in Feb this year. It was a current model 4-cyl turbo. Boot is a squeeze, but we managed to find a way to get 2x 71cm suitcases and 1x carry-on bag in. I'd be very careful with putting anything in the back seat. Asking for someone to slash the roof and steal it, and insurance won't cover it.

Have to say, the car was a blast! The 4-cyl turbo is actually more powerful than the V6. Not the most refined car, but it's good fun.

Awesome, well that seems like a suitcase easily will fit in the boot and we will only have a case in the backseat while travelling between hotels so will be in the car 95% of the time and if an occasion occurs where we aren't we will have to choose parking places that are safe. Not really a concern to be honest as dirty undies aren't too valuable. ;-) Anything of value will be on us or locked up. Thanks

Maybe a large sign on the case saying "Only dirty undies inside" or something will suffice then :P

I just get paranoid with these things and don't want to have to deal with getting back the $1k+ cc hold from the hire mob.
