Qantas: mid-90s Toyota Camry - known for its past bullet-proof reliability, despite some more issues coming up as they age. Reasonably competent across the general market, but rarely excel or capture attention (unless it's a safety/reliability issue). Work well as a default weapon of choice for something simple, and just gets you from A to B without too much fuss. However, in recent years, it is no longer desired in the market place, and cannot compete against more fancied players who offers more for the same (or less) money.
Jetstar: late-model Hyundai Excel - still cheap, and perform reasonably well. Reliability has improved from its early days, but many still stick to the old images of horror. A little under-appreciated by the market place, as, for what it is and how much it costs, it is actually not a bad deal.
Singapore Airlines: BMW 5-series - provides a good experience most of the time, and, despite its flaws, it is generally loved by the public - even if they've never had any contact with the product. However, contrary to popular believes, it is in reality not as reliable as it appears, but the company does a very good job of sweeping all bad news under the carpet.
Virgin Australia: 2011 Ford Focus - a big improvement over the previous model, although could still do some wax and polish. A genuine alternative to the more established players, and certainly deserve a much bigger market share than it currently has, especially if it can work on improving the overall experience in the coming years.
