Hello all
I recently had to go to CNS return. I haven't been to CNS since the TAA/727 days.
Anyway, rolled up to BNE Priority Entry (VA) had my boarding passes printed off went through security (only me & security staff there) and took escalator up to VA lounge.
I really wasn't that hungry nor thirsty so settled for small breakfast (2 slices of toast with real AU butter & honey) & a barista coffee.
Lounge is really cool now that they have finished the upgrade. All the staff were smiling like Cheshire cats, so that was a good start to the morning.
Trip to CNS was in an E190 (2A), long and quite comfortable..but then I'm a sucker for the Embraer.
On the other hand return trip at CNS airport is another matter. The D airport was packed. Suppose this had something to do with the fact that 2 CX 333's were parked at T1 (from Asia).
CNS VA lounge, even though you need a camel & a cut lunch to get there, was quite nice (looks out over the runway & gates). It was just before the lunch/early afternoon rush & there wasn't much on offer as far as food goes. However, a staff member did come around later to hand out small hot meat pies as a starter. The young lady at the bar asked me what I would like to drink so I settled for a mid strength Far North Queensland ale. Nice drop, several nice drops.
I digress, there is no such thing as priority loading for status or J pax at CNS, you just have to be in the right place at the right time. So I lined up at the purple line and just stood there in front of all the other pax until the gate sup' beckoned me forward. Was first on so settled into 2A on the 738. Great flight back but was worried about the storms in BNE (which thankfully had dissipated by the time we arrived).
Getting back to the VA BNE Priority Entry. Every airport in the world should have one of these, SO CIVILISED !
cheers for now
