You'll see it in my signature block, however it hasn't been progressively updating (statement of flights, km flown). Should it?

I just manually edited my sig, going to MyFR24 account , Settings, Banner and copying the URL at the bottom, "Example code, forum signature" and the signature block graphic updates in the editing mode:

but it hasn't when appearing on the AFF web site - back to the former view (non updated flights). But that's a separate issue, I think.

Any advice on whether the sig block should dynamically update?? I know @serfty often knows about these things :)

It should update (mind does). However, I suspect it might take a few days due to image caching both locally and server side.

What if you remove and re-add your signature?
You mean the MFR24 banner, or the whole sig? Did the former; as I mentioned, when I re-pasted the script from the bottom of the FR24 'Banner' page, "banner for forum signatures", it shows updated in AFF signature edit mode, but not at the bottom of my posts after I save the sig changes.
So the data linkage from FR24 'engine' isn't coming through to posts, although it is reflected when I edit my AFF sig.

I'll be adding some more flights this coming week to see what happens to mine. Here's the current situation so I can compate

How would you get this started in the first place? Is there a way for the tracking to happen automatically in the background?
This is out of nerdy interest to see over time what my numbers would look like. Many of the early flights I would need to try to remember and enter manually but the new ones should go in automatically.

Mine seems to update every once in a while. I don't know exactly how often, but it definitely changes.

I don't really mind as it doesn't need to remain precisely up to date. XenForo seem to proxy requests to myFR24, so I'd imagine there may be at least one layer of caching going on (plus perhaps myFR24 may not generate the images immediately)

edit: yeah, even if I go to https://banners-my.flightradar24.com/encryptededdy.png it still shows 152 flights, even though I added my 153rd flight over a week ago. So it's probably just myFR24's banner service is slow.

With MyFlightRadar24 (subscription), you manually load your flights in - pretty easy, just flight number and date, and it knows the details such as route, timings and scheduled aircraft

You can load flights well in the future in, and they will plot on the map in white, and once they are flown, the software captures the plane rego etc and preserves it in the flight list and they then plot orange/red etc on the map.

I must admit when I originally compiled my flight history, ages ago, I didn't have all historic details and just input some dummy international flights corresponding to passport stamps. Also, back then, maybe still today, you could make a Freedom of Info request to the Dept for copies of all your incoming passenger cards back to the late '80s IIRC, which happily records incoming flight details. There is at least one thread on that on AFF.

The other thing you might look at is TripIt, linked to Flighty. Flighty app I've raved about elsewhere and it can produce stats on flights loaded in to TripIt/Flighty, like this (also includes future flights). In my case I only have a fraction of my total flights in TripIt/Flighty.

Yes, my sig banner has now updated - 2 weeks after flights taken and the update within MyFR24.
