Long time lurker, first time poster..

I just had a very pleasant surprise flying back from SYD - MEL tonight..

I checked in through the premium lounge entry as normal and received my boarding pass. As I am always late, I didn't pay very much attention to it and just stuffed it in my pocket as usual, grabbed a quick drink and a bowl of that o so tasty pop corn and went to the gate.

Upon boarding through the priority boarding lane, the DJ crew were ultra friendly as usual and after reviewing my boarding pass said the usual Welcome Back, but tonight something was different.. They went on to offer me a newspaper which I took eagerly as I had not had a chance to read the news today. I took my seat 7A and awaited the usual door close and safety demo.. The crew came through the cabin with headsets and as they passed my row, asked me by name if I would like a headset, on the way back they asked me if I would like a bottle of water or something else to drink before takeoff. Throughout the flight when any of the crew approached me either with my flex meal pack, or to pick up my rubbish they addressed me by name. At the end of the flight, again they addressed me by name and wished me a pleasant evening.. As I was walking back to the car, I fished out my boarding pass and noticed the magic words: "Velocity Plat" next to my membership number.

I think I can get used to this.. nice work VA very impressed.

Snaps to VA!

And snaps to DJPlatinum_Al for joining (or rejoining?) and sharing with us ;)

Nice, and congrats.
I got Plat today too, but when I checked in for my CBR-MEL this evening, my boarding pass still said Gold, despite the VFF site showing Plat....

Ah well, given I did it the hard way (bum in seat, best fare of the day, no international travel and only a couple of PE Teasters) and there's no prospect of that changing... I expect I'll have plenty of opportunity to enjoy the benefits!

wow... that does sound fantastic...

wonder if they can keep it up with the surge of VAWP
