Just incase any of you have the MYUS and don't require,
make sure you cancel as they just charged my card $60.
I wrote and said I don't use the system
it looks good but I have never used it.

They started charging around a year ago, so check if you were charged then as well. Many people (me included) got an extra year free, I will be cancelling when they chase me up about the expired card on file.

We kept getting emails from them and I figured there was nothing we had ordered. Fortunately my US credit card they had on file had been updated so they got nothing. I think we used them about 5 years ago.

My account shows a $0 annual fee posted in August 2013. Not sure if they will charge me a fee this year, but not sure I am willing to take the chance. I had a shipment sent yesterday. Was for a "volumetric" weight of 7lb (real weight 3.5lb) and I selected the cheapest transport option which they decided was "MyUS Trusted Courier" at UIS$53.97. Interesting that in December, a 7lb shipment cost me US$34.25. For this current shipment the insurance cost was US$8 more than the previous one. But that is still a 38% jump in the shipping costs, which appear to be mostly in a lower discount rate (the "weight cost" is about the same. So I think that jump in cost might just be the clincher for cancelling as soon as this shipment arrives.

This particular order arrived at MyUS.com in two shipments. It was all ordered from one place, but the two components were drop-shipped from their suppliers. MyUS.com had no issues with combining into one shipment even though they saw them as coming from two different sellers. I just has to enter the value details for each of the items. So my only concern is their hike in costs and whether or not they plan to change me an annual fee this year. The company I bought from will ship internationally for about the same cost, but the ordering process is more complex (needing them to generate a quote for shipping via email etc) and its much easier to just pay them via PayPal and use USA shipping address (they have free shipping within the USA).

I guess I still have my Borderlinx account that gives me both USA and UK shipping addresses, but no discount on the shipping costs there so this one would have cost US$52 before insurance (US$63.06 with insurance). But no annual fee either.

If you are joined via Amex, then you have been caught out by the same issue which got me. The Amex discount on shipping doesn't apply to "MyUS Trusted Courier" - making it not the cheapest. To actually get the cheapest, select either DHL or Fedex manually, and it ends up cheaper after the discount (if MyUS Trusted was only a tiny bit cheaper to start with).

I applied through Amex and received the discount in a trusted courier delivery a couple of weeks ago. But considering it.went USPS it was still a.rip off.

I can't see where it says the Amex 30% discount won't apply to MyUS Trusted Carrier Network - how do you know this? I have a shipment waiting that has a problem with no seller name and address (which is weird because the photos they took of the items clearly show both) and I'd obviously like to ensure that the discount applies once the seller details have been sorted out.

Welcome to my world. I had the same "please provide name and address", when it's clearly shown on the photo of the item they took. I did get Amex discount when shipping via MTCN though.

In my experience, just last week, the 30% discount most certainly was applied to the "MyUs Trusted Carrier" option. I selected "Cheapest Option" which they determined to be the trusted carrier and 30% discount was applied as seen in the transaction history:

To their credit, I emailed the seller details (exactly as they were on the photos!) over the weekend and at 7am Monday their time, the error message had cleared. Good to know that the discount applies to MTCN. Now the wait for them to process the pending shipment.

Thanks NM, that's pretty good proof! This next shipment will most likely be the last from MyUS for me.

They've been giving me a lot of grief lately...nit picky stuff with shipments, overcharging on shipping etc... Thinking of ditching them. If they charge me an annual fee, that'll be the last straw.

I canceled my account three weeks ago and received several emails from them asking why and that they will keep it open. Finally today they confirmed closing it down.

I've just tried Shipitto with a tiny package. Other than their clunky interface to navigate, everything's so far so good. From the package arriving and en route to me, it took less than 3 hours and way too many shipping options to choose from. You won't miss MyUS at all.

MyUS have told me my annual fee will still be waived, and the discount will continue. More detail in the main MyUS thread.
