Well I bought a couple of tickets to Fiji next March on the J* 2 for one sale, it clearly states name changes are allowed for a fee but there is a catch.

Not only do you need to pay the fee, you need to purchase the new tickets at the price they would be today. But havent you already bought the seats, arn't you just changing the name on the ticket.

Whats more I was told there are no seats available on the return flight, hang on Havent I already got two.???

OK I know they are cheap tickets but if I don't use them the seats remain empty, if I pay the $100 per ticket name change fee, they are filled and the airlime makes more $$.

So offering the tickets to a friend to use at no cost except the name change did not work out so well.

I like J* I use them a lot so I am a little perplexed and disapointed with this one.

Pretty standard.
Otherwise you would get wholesalers/ agencies etc buying all the cheap tickets then onselling them and keeping the difference.

I had not thought of that but its a shame we miss out because they might do the wrong thing. Would be nice if I could let someone else use the seats I bought, a shame to see the opportunity go to waste.

Originally I was going to take + 1 over to Fiji for a surprise trip, then she booked a cruise there later in the year to surprise me. OK that was a surprise.

Mainly because we decided to do something else early March now. We found getting to some of the nicer spots in Fiji from Nadi was a little difficult so arriving by ship solved that issue. We kind of found that we were actualy tired of flying all the time and the ship option when on holiday was a nice one. Flying has become to much like being at work and not being on holiday, if you know what I mean if you travel a bit for work.

I certainly know what you mean. When you travel for work, you have routines etc, you can't help bu follow these when you travel for holidays, but surely holidays are about NO routines... :)
