Have to take a quick Biz trip to Canberra on Wednsday thru Sun and have to decide between a Park suite at the Hyatt $570 pn or an Atrium residence $440pn or a Lane suite $365pn at the Realm.

Any feedback or recomendations Re the 2 hotels or the suites mentioned??

I will have to book by lunchtime today.

Thanks in advance.

Mind you, if you have an alternative suggestion will be happy to consider.
Will be hosting some important meetings in house in suite so l need to choose carefully for best results.

cheers,

jaffa,

As a regular to Canberra hotels (including this week), there is really only one real 5* (Hyatt), the others are self rated, which is fine if you just want to stay overnight on business, but if you want to use the facilities/services I would suggest the Hyatt as I have found they are a bit more experienced at more demanding customers ;) and the suites are in the original and much quieter part of the hotel. It is also easier to get a taxi (although it is Canberra so be warned and book ahead in peak times!) You'll also have access to the Ambassador Lounge.

Cheers

Have a look at the Diamant in Canberra.
Very nice new modern and if after a suite, would be about the same price.

Ring directly for a good deal. I have stayed here once and at the Sydney version about 15 times.

Hyatt for genuine 5 star service, plush furnishings and good range of facilities. Not much else in CBR that will top Hyatt as a 5 star hotel.

Having said that I have stayed there and thought it was overrated for the $$, I preferred the Realm, but it is closer to 4* than 5. But I am not really demanding when it comes to hotels, prefer to eat out etc, and also have a preference for more modern furnishings. YMMV.

Once again the great bunch who habitate this place point me in the right direction, yet again. I have been allocated Suite 311 however relevant that no is.

Thankyou all!

Will let you know what l think of the place. It's been many years since l was in the nations capital, so l do this trip with a level of expectation and an eye on the prize.
