My status review and the taking away of SCs has taken my SC balance into a negative number. Earning SCs only brings it closer to 0. Has this happened to anyone? What do I do?
I was in an internet cafe when I wrote and had less than a minute left.
I have just written out the whole story, but have figured it out now.
When you look at recent activity, the totals down the bottom take into consideration only the last 5 actions.
SO, when my status review has taken away 2000 or so SCs, my balance went down to -2000 or so. This is because the entries which showed the earning of those SCs were not considered in the total because they were not visible in the last 5 activities.
To see the true total, I had to look up the statement of the entire life of my membership, or at least a year prior to my status review month.
Does this make sense at all?? :-|
PS.
I have not redeemed any points, haven't changed status, nor was there any error in the awarding of points and SCs.
Well to be fair to leny, they do indeed exist. Any velocity points earnt on an eligible (status earning) velocity partner, also accrue in a separate column with the title "status credits".
I am very new to Velocity, but would agree with Leny, that this is a strange accounting practice. Why bother displaying the total of the status and points columns for the last 5 transactions? It's going to produce information that is of no practical use, and indeed can become confusing, as Leny points out.
The only totals that you are interested in are -
the total number of points in the account (very nicely displayed in the top right!)
the total number of status credits you have in this membership year (less obviously displayed, particularly as the totalling of the status credits for the last 5 transactions is bolded, and stands out more than the membership-YTD "balance").
P.S. I just logged into my QFF, and on their activity page, they don't total the point or status columns of the last arbitrary 21 transactions. (Sensible.)
I have now also realised this, and was wrong to look at the totals figures down the bottom. I didn't realise that the points and status credits were listed just above the last 5 activities.
