AMEX Low Rate Credit Card

Seems like a new card introduced to the product line.
Appears to be pretty poor value unless you don't intend on paying your bill in full monthly.

  • Annual fee $65 p.a.
  • Enjoy our low interest rate of 11.99% p.a. on purchases[SUP]1[/SUP].
  • 0.99% p.a. on balance transfers for the first 6 months[SUP]2[/SUP].This offer excludes any existing or previous Card Members. A one-off credit plan establishment fee of 1% applies to any balances transferred.
  • Up to 55 days interest free on credit card purchases[SUP]3[/SUP]. This interest free period is not applicable where you are carrying forward a balance on your account[SUP]3[/SUP]

NO rewards program! What a disappointment!
[/SUP]

Who would bother?

If it were fee free it may interest some but otherwise its comparable to most other low rate cards albeit with more potential for surcharges or rejection.

They should have kept it annual fee free to encourage the market theyre after to take up the offer and run the gauntlet of shops who do/dont accept.

man, what a waste of plastic. I don't see any compelling reason to go for this card.
