Looks like ANA is refreshing their 787's as well as future 787s with new Y and PE seats from Recaro for 2026 onwards.

34(!) inches of pitch for Y, upgraded 13.3 inch IFE and seems to be the main points for economy.

Whilst 40 inchs, 2-3-2 layout and deeper recline 15.6 in screens seem to be the PE big sellers.

They also announced new J seats to be unveiled later this year which will revamp their 787 fleet. Will be interesting to see what they put in compared to the room.

Those Y seats look very flimsy.
From memory ANA had already gotten rid of all it's 2x4x2 configured aircraft.

I think the 3-3-3 is here to stay (or they wouldn't have shown a 3 seat). I'd probably wait untik trying it, given their main competitor is JL, they can't introduce something that us substantially worse than JL hence the 34" pitch which is enormous for Y.

2-3-2 for PE is pretty rare though and 40inches.

Once again attests to the fact that no passenger ever sits in these seats to test them before manufacturers produce them, or airlines install them.

What pax want is access to a horizontal legrest, even in PEY. Why can’t manufacturers deliver?

Also given we're on the 787-9 routes good chance SYD - HND might see these in the not so distant future.

Just looked a bit more into it. It should be the same economy seat as QF on the a350s.

They do look similar, just the QF colour scheme makes the padding and folding clearer.
