Hi guys,

I have a booking for myself and my partner next year in early Feb from LAX-HKG-SYD.
We have had this booked for a while and hence under the old award (110,000 pts each).
The route now prices for 85,000k.

Any chance of getting the point difference refunded without losing the booking?

Cheers.

I myself would consider a bird in the hand and all that. There is no guarantee the award seats will become available again for rebooking after canceling or that you can get a CX agent who would do it for you.

If you feel 50k points is worth the risk of losing the booking altogether then go for it.

I'm with Serfty. You might lose the whole thing.
BTW, how did you get the website to price at 85,000 points for LAX-HKG-SYD? I can only see it as two separate flights...

Sorry for the delay guys. Been offline for a bit!

Can report success. Successfully rerouted and points refunded! We actually wanted to change our arrival from SYD to BNE (keeping the same LAX leg). This might have helped?

I could see availability online & confirmed with the agent prior to changing that tickets would be reissued and points refunded.

Win win all round
