Frankly a pretty minor change - would not be surprised if it takes a long time to rollout (like NewRoo)

I was looking at a Cathay plane at MEL the other day thinking what an update the livery needed, it just looks a bit daggy and old to me..
The new livery is much more sleek but agree they should have done more to differentiate it....

I like it!

Watching Ultimate Airport Dubai they seem to have to repaint planes every so often anyway... so I guess they just apply this instead of the old one, rather than specifically set out to repaint the whole fleet.

I think you're right. The transition to new livery doesn't need done speedily. Was a different case for VA when they changed from their bold, old red and blue livery to the current one.

Not much has changed but I like it.

I would have liked for the tail to extend down further and the white bird to be larger in size. However, that's just me and I'm no high priced graphic designer.

Ummm... wouldn't that be the QF design but in green rather than red? :)

I flew on the new livery earlier this week on a trans pax in F. The deeper meaning behind the updates is a reflection of the classical modern sense of elegance that resonates throughout the entire CX experience. From the F check in to the new pier, new menus and amenities. The brand experience now perfectly reflects the updated livery and has created a well rounded overall new vibe for the airline. I like it - a lot.

Nice!

So CX updated their soft product on long haul F? Sounds exciting :)

It would depend on the size of the fleet and the reasons for the change. Older aircraft likely to be retired soon would be unlikely to get a repaint.

Look at UA. They had 3 different versions of their livery flying around, with the oldest over 12 years old, when CO took over and the merged company kept the CO logo. All the UA planes were repainted within a few months.
QF changed their roo logo 6-7 years ago... There are still some aircraft with the old roo.
