New CommBank "Smart Awards" card

Like @MelbFlyer above, I’ll be ditching this card. Was my long term card for probably 35 years as I had a good (expired for probably 15 years) deal with them. But they’ve decided to cancel that and ask for $96 per year so time to snip. Moreso since they’d gotten rid of the international fee free Amex companion card and then ‘enhanced’ the travel insurance. No value left in CBA cards now I believe.

As I said to the agent when I queried the higher annual fee: cancel the card; I’ll be back in a year or two when you offer 50K+ airline points…

Does anyone here who owns the Smart Awards card have some sort of timeline for the bonus points?

I recently signed up for this and being in the "Yello" tier, I was promised 15k bonus QF points if I met the monthly spend requirements of $1,500.

First month statement is already out and no signs or any mention of the bonus points...

I'm in the same situation as you.

My statement date was 24 June.

As of 2 July, no bonus points received.

Do we play the waiting game or do we call them up?
We have to play the waiting game. If we call now, all they’ll do is point out the T&Cs:

“Bonus points will appear on your credit card statement as ‘Bonus Awards’ within 90 days of you meeting the spend criteria each month.”

I expect the points to come well before the 90 days, but if the points don’t come, they won’t do anything until the 90 days has passed. It’s a pain because I was hoping that the first lot of bonus points would come through before the end of the Qatar 20% bonus promotion (30 June). But them’s the breaks.

I got the card at the end of 2023 and found that the bonus points for each 30 day period (where the spend requirement was met) were awarded around 15-20 days after the end of each 30 day period

That makes sense, seems like we need to wait it out before calling

Does anyone know if you miss your 2nd month you're still eligible for your 3rd month? My 2nd month was a bit dicey and I wasn't if I reached it but for my 3rd month I definitely reached the spend req.

I received my first 15K QF points on 1/8 and my 1st statement hit, then my 2nd statement hit but no points. My 3rd statement hasn't landed but will do so in a few days. I received an adjustment for 15K QF points on 26/9 so I'm not sure if this is for my 3rd month or 2nd month.

Also curious on the timing of monthly spend criteria for the bonus points. I applied for this card 20 September, and have already received my first statement on 3 October. Are the 4 sets of bonus points applied to the statement dates, or something else? T&Cs state "four successive 30-day periods", but not when these periods start.

I'm looking to get the Ultimate Awards card, with the 15k QFF points/month for 4 months intro offer, but I have a question about the offer terms:

Offer not available to customers who currently hold, or have held, any activated Awards card types in the 12 months prior as a primary cardholder or customers who switch from other card types.

I currently have a commbank Gold card - which is not an Award card, is discontinued and has no features so I'm happy to cancel.
So the question is how long after cancelling do I need to wait before applying? I don't really understand the logic of needing to cancel rather than switch...
