STUNNING Melbourne model Pia Miller is flying high after stepping into Deborah Hutton's shoes as one of the new faces of Qantas.
Miller will be joined by David Whitehill as hosts of the airline's domestic and international in-flight program, Welcome Aboard.

Who is Pia Miller? Who is David Whitehill? I for one have no idea - i'm sure they grace the covers of No Idea and Womens Monthly.

Couldn't they have picked George Negus and Leigh Sales (beauty and brains)?

Pia Miller is a model, David Whitehall is a TV presenter. Both have done travel have travel shows before.

I'd hate to hear George Negus! He's a journalist, not a lifestyle presenter.

I think it could be a good combination. Pia Miller is certainly easy on the eye!

Pia Miller is married to an AFL footballer, Brad; they have a couple of kids.

She got the gig of the Melbourne Formula 1 Grand Prix Ambassador this year and appears to have impressed, at least to the right people.

She's the one on the right here:

She may have what someone thinks of as beauty, but doesn't seem to have anywhere near the brains and class of Deborah Hutton. Just another bird cast from the same Vogue mold.

Don't forget that Hutton was a model too, and she's been the face of QF for 15 odd years.

Perhaps Pia will grow on us, but i'm going to miss the "Hi, I'm Deborah Hutton, and i'd like to welcome you on board Qantas, Spirit of Australia... Well, it's <insert season>/i'm in <insert location>"

I used to look forward to Ms. Hutton as well (probably the only part of the "Welcome Aboard Video" that I'd try to watch - at least the first flight every month).

As for the comment about 'brains', don't be too hasty.

I suppose that the proof will be in the presentation style. Ms Hutton certainly still managed to create a tight feeling in a couple of spots, but then thats from a BOF.

Love your generalisation as well. Having worked several times with Pia I can confirm she is not a bird or cast from a 'mold' . Very easy going, switched on and goes without saying attractive!

Have also worked with Deborah who was also a professional.

12 years is a fantastic run for Debra, I dont think it would have been easy to do, it speaks volumes for a departing employee when their job is taken over by two people!
