Dear Flashware!

airberlin now offers even more flexibility when it comes to your flight. JustFly, FlyClassic and FlyFlex - our new fare structure allows you to choose the right fare for your needs.

Are you travelling without baggage and don't need a seat reservation? Or are services such as baggage, seat reservation and booking changes important to you?

From now on, you can choose between the following 3 fare types (depending on availability) when booking all flights from 1 July 2012:
JustFly: Our rate for people who want to fly at a special low price and who don’t require access to any additional services starting from € 78* for a round-trip
FlyClassic: Fly and experience our familiar ancilliary benefits starting from € 98* for a round-trip or € 49* one-way
FlyFlex: A fare that offers not only full flexibility but a wide range of additional services

You decide which fare fits your travel needs best!

Nice to see the LCC model creeping into full OW members.

This time next year I bet it will cost me $50 for dinner. In AA F international.

Looks like a cross between JQ and QF offerings, interesting route to take. Or perhaps it’s more similar to DJ actually.

The issues I can see in the terms are that of seat reservation, desk check-in and potentially priority boarding, as OneWorld members. The best I could find was this page, but it only lists TopBonus. However would think it applies to OneWorld status too.

From the » Overview of all fares page (my emphasis):

2: In addition to the permitted cabin baggage allowance, the following items may be taken into the cabin free of charge:

  • a lady's handbag, a pocketbook, a lady's purse or a small bag for a man
a coat or cloak , a blanket, an umbrella or a walking stick
reading materials in a quantity appropiate for the length of the flight
    a small camera
baby food for use during the flight
a baby carrier or (collapsible) pushchair, a child's booster seat, a bag with nappy-changing equipment and nappies, or similar, for the duration of the flight
a wheelchair and/or a pair of crutches and/or walking aids or other protheses for the use of the passenger, provided he/she is dependent on this equipment
    a doctor's bag
So does that mean that War and Peace will not be permitted on short haul flights and New Idea will not be permitted for long haul.
I knew I should have gone to medical school for the extra baggage allowance!

Be aware: The new JustFly fare books into Z class which earns no miles/TPs on QFF!

Not surprising. But thanks or the info. Would be upsetting to get caught out.
