New Hilton Garden Inn in Singapore

An 'interesting' (some comments I would describe as racist) thread on FT.

Reported to be a Cat2 property which I suspect makes it a good use of points for a cheap night in otherwise expensive Singapore.

Also of note is it's a refurb of a property that previously had pretty poor reviews, so hoping it's a comprehensive refurb and new management.

Personally I have no issue with the location. It's certainly one of the more vibrant parts of Singapore, and probably more interesting then some of the more sterile areas.

It'll be interesting to see how they manage the "cat" maximum pricing when the categories are removed. They say properties won't pass the current "cat" ceilings, but I'm wondering how they (or should I say, we) police that. Maybe it'll be very cheap if it's not well received generally.
