Wow, can't wait to spend $500 per night for the Maldives

Thanks. Do you think it's worth to burn 50000 HH points for HSP per night?? Looking to stay 3 nights, maybe 1 of the nights pay the $220/night by cash.

I'm probably not the best person to ask as I haven't had good service recently at HSP. My personal opinion is the hotel is so-so. Certainly nothing flash and IMHO, not worth 50000 points (without checking, didn't HSP increase to 70-95000 points?). I haven't checked what the advertised rate is for, so can't really say if $220 is good value, but I'd lean toward checking other properties in Surfers first. Sorry....I am trying not to be negative as I have had some great HSP treatment, but over Christmas left a very bad taste in my mouth. I really do hope you thoroughly enjoy your stay!

Just looked at a few dates and the AAA rate is the same as this new sale rate (Great Getaway Sale) and you don't have to pay a non-refundable rate up-front.

I don't know your circumstances but if you have Gov't identification, that wins over both AAA and Great Getaway.

Perhaps try looking at some of the discount accom sites like Wotif and try a BRG match to secure the bennies.

I have accumulated ~70,000 Hhonors points in 7 years.

Hoping to get some decent value out of them but with redemptions like the one you mention I stand no chance.

Thanks. To qualify for AAA do I just need an NRMA membership?

Yeah I'm thinking twice now if I should burn 50000 points at this property. Maybe I should go for Sofitel... I have accor plat but not sure if I will get any benefits at sofitel gold coast.

I have SPG and PC Gold as well but not sure those are worth much...

Your NRMA card should have a AAA symbol on the back with the club code number which means your right.

I personally would not spend 50k HH points for one night at HSP. If anything I'd suggest buying the night and earn points rather than using them. Honestly, Sea Temple would be a nicer alternative if you don't need international hotel facilities. Mirage resort may also be worth a look (it has been revamped apparantly and your SPG gold will help there). Alternatively, a move out of town to Sanctuary Cove may see a nice stay at the Intercontinental (especially if you have any spare BOGO certs)
